There is literally nothing wrong with Rogue One. Nothing .

The two worst things:
1) Tarkin’s CGI. And you know what? I get it. Central, powerful character in what would be his last appearance in the franchise. No need to recast. Sure it was a bit goofy, but they were pushing the boundaries of what was possible.
2) Vader’s cheesy dialogue, which I really didn’t think was that bad. Wasn’t great, but it was fine.
If that’s all we’ve got bitch about? Jesus.

It is a proper Star Wars war movie, made even better since there are no Apple iStormtroopers running around.

Yeah, I’ll have to see it again. The first time was brutal.

Yeah, his dialog was a little goofy. A little more Anikan broodvader than the darth we know and love.

Except for aspects of the plot being campy and stupid.
But I still say it was enjoyable to watch.

I maintain that both of those points are noteworthy for exactly the reasons you gave, and still they do not constitute being something wrong with the movie.

There is just more inconsistency. Like Leia saying she remembered her mother being sad. I remember a line of dialogue in the original film about all these bothans (spelling?) that died for those plans. Unless those regular all humans are bothans it’s another side line that wasn’t properly respected.
Minor complaint though other than another film where a 5'3" person beating up 6 foot tall people trained in war and in full body armor. However that’s common Hollywood nonsense, Tom Cruise has far worse scenes in that regard whose the #1 actor i’m unable to suspend disbelief on.
These are minor problems, very minor. Didn’t damage the film to me and only a comic book guy type would be asshurt about it.

The Bothans died stealing the plans of the second Death Star, though! So we’re all good for continuity.

There are nits to pick, but it exceeded all expectations. I’ve seen it twice now and it was even better the second time. Very few movies can hold their intensity in the third act all the way until the credits roll like that.

SPOILERS, (obviously.) It was much better than I was expecting. I actually like the very quick first bit, just enough to set the stage and established a quick pace. Tarkin was written well, but I agree, the CGI was distracting in a couple places. K2 is under rated - loved him; he is not just a c3po knock off. The film also did a good job of rehabilitating Vader - he is no longer the whiny child from the prequels. Vader’s short piece with Krennic was smart, foreshadowing his downfall and the bit at the end was the proper amount of badass scary. The one thing that I’m not sure if I like is that Galen ultimately was not able to keep Jyn safe as he had promised - worse it was his own work that did her in. It’s just really incredibly sad. After this and Godzilla, I’m really liking that Gareth Edwards guy.

Pull on rubber Vader mask.
Lens color too light.
Proportions all wrong since it is not a multi piece design.
Texture is in no way, shape or form like the black piano lacquer of the original.
Body language is completely different from the rest of the series Vader representation.
Rebels that kill people at the drop of a hat.
Inconsistent back story for many of the characters.
The fact that this is Disneys second attempt at making a Star Wars movie and they are still trying to put elements of Star Wars together, without any clear attempt at a cohesive whole, because they lack an understanding of the mythology of Star Wars and its themes.
Carrie Fisher will now appear in every movie Disney can manage to put her in for all time and there’s nothing that’ll stop that.

Conpletely agree. I thought it bounced around too much the first time through, second was fine. Same with Tarkin...first time I was so distracted by the fact that he was on screen...I was too fixated on seeing the CGI aspect. The second time through, it was far less noticable because the shock of him being back was over.
I have a couple small gripes - 1) I wish Saw Gerrera was in the movie longer, what a cool character and Forest Whittaker is awesome. 2) not sure why Jyn and Cassian had time to get all the way down to the beach to watch their impending doom but not search for a ship to try to escape. That’s about it. Great movie.

Vader’s 2nd scene gave me chills both times I saw it. I’d love to watch a “Vader hunting and murdering all the Jedi, save Obi-Wan and Yoda” movie. It’d be savage! He could even enlist the assistance of a few fan favorite bounty hunters.

There are two tiny things wrong with Rogue One: too much jumping between planets early on (with captions?!) and one or two of Forest Whitaker’s scenes came off a little odd.

I liked Rogue One a lot, but it had its problems. The first act had really janky pacing, the characters were super flat, and CGI Tarkin & Leia were a little weird if well-done.
But I liked the more diverse settings, the third act on Scarif was excellent, and Darth Vader was the most awesome he’s ever been.

It was very good. Best Star Wars movie since the originals. It was a bit jumpy in the first 20 mins, but seeing it a second time around, it fit well together.
I really thought Donny Yen’s character was going to escape and meet up with a Jedi, or find a lightsaber, etc. Damn if they didn’t kill everyone.....
I thought the Tarkin scenes (while obviously CGI) were extremely well done.
And the final Vader scenes were terrific!
I could nit pick on a few things, but I won’t. It was a relief to have another great Star Wars film.
